Free Celiac Screening on October 17, 2015 in Chicago, Illinois

If you or someone you love has been experiencing symptoms that you believe may be Celiac Disease and you have been thinking about being tested, please consider this free screening at the University of Chicago Medicine.

Pre-registration is mandatory for the screening, so if you are interested, please click on the lick below for more information. Registration opens September 14, 2015.

Free blood screenings along with an expert Q&A Panel and a Vendor Fair will be available from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the University of Chicago Medicine, Duchossois Center for Advanced Medicine, (DCAM Building) 4th Floor, 5758 S. Maryland Avenue, Chicago.

You are eligible for the Blood Screening if:

•You have been on a gluten-containing diet for at least 12 weeks prior to testing;
•You have a close family member that has celiac disease or Type 1 diabetes;
•You have Down Syndrome;
•You have a related autoimmune condition such as rheumatoid arthritis, MS, or Addison’s Disease;
•You have digestive problems, chronic fatigue, osteopenia/osteoporosis, or Type 1 diabetes;
•You have other related symptoms or conditions as listed below

Common symptoms of celiac disease may include one or more of the following:
Frequent abdominal bloating and pain
Chronic diarrhea or constipation
Vomiting
Weight loss
Pale, foul-smelling stool
Iron-deficiency anemia that does not respond to iron therapy
Fatigue
Failure to thrive or short stature
Delayed puberty
Pain in the joints
Tingling numbness in the legs
Pale sores inside the mouth
A skin rash called dermatitis herpetiformis
Tooth discoloration or loss of enamel
Unexplained infertility or recurrent miscarriage
Osteopenia (mild) or osteoporosis (more serious bone density problem)
Peripheral neuropathy
Psychiatric disorders such as anxiety or depression

  1. I would like a subscription through out card. I have been dignaoised with celiac disese mardy karki I also can,,t use sugar,milk except soy almond and no caffine
