Hallowe’en is right around the corner. Please don’t forget those trick or treaters who have food allergies. It’s easy to participate: simply place a teal colored pumpkin in your window or on your doorstep to let them know that you have treats that are allergy friendly. We spray paint a real pumpkin every year, but you could spray paint a plastic pumpkin to reuse year after year.
After a quick trip to the dollar store, we packed up small goodie bags with Hallowe’en bubbles, pirate eye patches and glow-in-the-dark bracelets. It was a fun and easy way to show our children how to help others celebrate. We packaged the non-food treats up so that any bags that we do not hand out can be safely packed away to use next year.
